Adjuvant Radiation Treatment

 That is the next step for me based on the pathology report according to my surgeon today. I am healing from surgery sans complication and that continues. Lifting and some movements are still restricted. I have little pain but tire easily. I did not get a photo of Mercy today and miss her terribly.

Feeling better...

 She had some urinary crystals but no bacteria and normal Ph. She is still on pain medication but eating and drinking and has fully transitioned to special urinary food. That should also help control her symptoms. I am so relieved that things are looking up for her!

Mercy hospitalized...

She has either a UTI or idiopathic cystitis, the urine test should provide clues in addition to evidence of urinary crystals. This after days of being told of her eating and drinking normally. She is currently on pain medication until more information comes back from the lab. I spoke to one of her vets rather than the vet nurses and there is a plan in place for her care. Nonetheless, I am concerned and feel bad about not being able to care for her myself at home. I have another month or so of recovery from surgery and may face chemotherapy or radiation after that.

Home

 I got home Thursday afternoon. I have been sleeping and then staying up in my chair and going outside to feel some sun and get a little fresh air. I cannot lift, bend or do other things for the extended healing period. I have learned to put on underpants using a grabber and only making simple meals or eating the soup made for me by a friend. There is a long recovery ahead and the pathology report on the removed lymph nodes is yet to come. The results determine if future treatment is necessary. I see the surgeon again at the end of the month.

Mercy is being loved on at the vet. I am grateful for that. Thanks for all of your kind thoughts and interest. All are appreciated.
