After a three-week hiatus, my part of the world and my rehearsal routine, has become normal. My schizophrenic neighbour has been quiet, for which I am grateful. Her landlord called yesterday to tell me that a judge decreed that this tenant cannot be evicted and that the landlord has the option of either letting her break the lease or simply not renewing it.
The landlord also said that if anything else happens, she does not want to hear about it, and she refuses to break this tenant's lease, despite the fact that she dislikes her and the disturbances she's caused , both in terms of time and money. As the unit owner, she does not seem to understand that if anything else involving this tenant does occur, the management company or the board will notify her. I think she is as much to blame for this situation as her tenant. This owner seems to feel that she can wash her hands of this matter, even as she acknowledges the potential for the tenant to act out because she is still tied to a lease she wants to break.
Furthermore, the unit owner is under the mistaken impression that I should tell the neighbours about this matter when my only interest is in protecting myself from potential harm. I am not her mouthpiece nor do I care to do her bidding. At this point, all I want to do is find another place to live.
Choir rehearsals for the High Holy Days services are in full swing. We are really pressed for time, however, and I missed rehearsal last week when I reacted badly to a new prescription that my drug plan insisted I try because it is cheaper than the drug my doctor wanted to give me. Why anyone should be subjected to strange side effects before anything else can be done seems both stupid and potentially harmful, but that is also our medical system in a nutshell: broken and potentially harmful. The bottom line is greed. Without regulation, drug prices can be ridiculous. My payment with insurance was $178.65. An uninsured individual would pay $488 for a 90-day supply.
All of this is nuts...And next week, the RNC holds its convention here...
Until Next Time...

$180 bucks...I don't suppose you could get to Cuba eh? Probably about $10 bucks there. Yeah have a good week with the insane clown posse in town.
Sounds like a new place to live is the way to go - with landlord like that, you are onto a loser. Good luck!
For goodness' sake...which planet is this landlady living on!
How is house hunting going?
I've heard several times of generic drugs that not only had serious side-effects the original drug didn't have but weren't as effective either. The fact is that generic drugs aren't necessarily the same as the original but may use different ingredients processed in a different way, with a very different effect on the patient.
