This is the first night out of the last several that I've reached home at a reasonable hour with a bit of time to decompress. My temp job is slated to run through the end of April, and only at the end will I discover whether I have been asked back for another. Work for this company in my position generally ends about midsummer. I am taking things a step at a time. I did have a slight rise in pay since I was a returning employee, which I appreciate.
Monday of this week saw the first night of Pesach or Passover and I've attended two Seders, both of which were enjoyable and lend both history and meaning to this season.
As for Hamlet, the opera by French composer, Charles Louis Ambroisie Thomas, it was written in 1868, and was well worth seeing. I would recommend that anyone with the interest visit the website for the New York Metropolitan Opera. You can get information on next season and find out when offerings are broadcast in your area via radio. Live HD performances broadcast in theatres across the world can be found there as well. Sung completely in French, it is an adaptation rather than a straight portrayal of Shakespeare's work, with a different ending. Because Hamlet the opera is performed rarely, this was almost a once-in-a-lifetime event and the cast and maestro were fabulous.
The only blight on this activity occurred when members of an area opera club got a bit boisterous and were asked by other viewers to quiet down...
In case anyone wonders, I did not nod off, I'm happy to say.
