I've had to re-think where and how to place cleaning and laundry items which has also led to another think about what I actually use, and more paring down. One all purpose cleaner, some bleach, Clorox Wipes, sponges, vinegar and baking soda. Laundry liquid, spot cleaner and dish washing liquid round out the list.
The bathroom has had a thorough clean and sort out and I hauled extra flooring from my closet in the bedroom out so that it could find a new home. It is the cheap laminate put down four years ago and I will be happy to see the last of it. The kitchen tile looks great and it is not marble but porcelain which is very durable. I've decided to use extra thick vinyl plank through out the rest of the flat as it is sturdy and waterproof and will withstand my wheelchair.
If you are thinking of the stuff in hospitals, residential vinyl looks more like wooden floor planks, complete with variations in color or tone. The rest of the flat will be brightened up with a paint job as well. In the interim, the boxes and disarray here are starting to give me some anxiety and my inner minimalist has come out in a big way as I am starting to look around and see what I can get rid of...

I am not in the slightest bit surprised the chaos of the past few weeks is getting to you. Our kitchen remodel was completed in a much shorter time frame - and did my head in.

It's never easy having workman and mess in the house, but it will be worth it in the end. Your new kitchen is looking very smart.
You are going to be so happy when you are done. Living through remodeling is not for the faint of heart. There are several construction projects that need done in our house, but I'm in no hurry to do them because I am done with disarray and dust for a while. I think we finally have all of the construction dust cleaned up from the several "move in" projects we did earlier this year. But I am very happy with the results and you will be, too.
It's a wonderful feeling to be engineering a home refresh. I continue to take inspiration from you. I hope I will manage to follow suit soon.
It's looking beautiful already. I really like that floor. We need to replace our nearly 30 year old kitchen flooring and have been wondering what to get. It's a big floor so we can't go too expensive but I do love the look of yours.
How is Jacob holding out? If things are getting to you, I expect he is getting tired of it too. I hope for both your sakes that things wind up soon.
Things are really coming along at your place. I know what you mean about residential vinyl. We bought it for our basement floor for its sturdiness and waterproofness! When we at the hardware store to make a selection, I couldn't believe how many beautiful choices there were in this type of flooring. Looking forward to seeing your place when it's finished.
