A Sign of the Times...

Despite feeling saddened by events of the last two days, I ventured out for some fresh air only to run into a person I did not know loudly expounding on Donald's Trump's recent victory. A small crowd had formed around this man and as I sought to wheel quietly by, he caught sight of me and his voice raised, started coming towards me. I kept on going, and he only stopped when I pulled out my phone and said I would call the cops unless he backed up. Fortunately for us both, he did as a few people persuaded him to quiet down. I've never liked malls and won't be going alone to another anytime soon. I suspect worse may be coming and sooner than we all think...

Tomorrow, I'm going to lunch with a friend. Hopefully, we'll eat in as much peace as can now be had in this crazy country.

I am so sorry. No-one should be condemned to live in fear.
I do hope that lunch tomorrow is peaceful and blissful.

What do you think he wanted to say to you, I wonder. I am glad you were able to enforce your space. xo

Hopefully the situation settles some in the next few days or weeks. Them that voted for Trump are feeling pretty justified as if it were some kind of football game. It won't take much to push them away from their ardor of the moment.

Stay safe e, by whatever means necessary.

Okay. Excuse my language, but holy fuck! I can't even fathom this happening. I'm so sorry.

Oh e, I am afraid this could be the sign of things to come - so many people feel they can spout what they can now and Trumps victory has somewhat legitimized such behaviour. Say safe x Its terrible, we have to navigate our way in life like this

Yikes! When you say "expounding," was he complaining about the victory or celebrating it? And why was he coming toward you? Sounds like he maybe wasn't right in the head.

Whatever did he want? What a horrid experience for you. I'm glad that people cooled him down.

I cannot stand malls, either, and this should not have happened. Take care of yourself. Hugs.

Oh dear, bit like after Brexit here. Suddenly the nutters have the last word. Or will they?
We are all scared, even over here. The most used phrase is “what on Earth is that madman going to do?”

Best of luck.

He sounds as if he is nuts. I am sorry to say that in Britain many people now feel they can spout fascist and racist ideas on the strength of the Brexit choice, even though many who voted for Brexit were not fascists and racists. The trouble is, Brexit is what the fascists and racists DID vote for.
