The Gift Of Time...

It has been an interesting couple of weeks. I've been asked back to the specialised library in which I volunteered prior to beginning this blog. I will be doing the work of an archivist, describing and organising a specific collection and creating a finding aid for those that want to access it for research purposes.

I am also looking into taking a class, though I know not where yet, so blogging will be brief for the foreseeble future. I'll let you all know more as it unfolds. All will be good to put on the CV and I can make the best use of time away from paid employment, which in this area, has shown little to no improvement.

What would you do with the gift of time?

Cheers!

I have the gift of time, being unemployed, but I don't have the cash for what I'd really like to do, which is travel the world for a year or two. Still, I've seen quite a lot of the world already so I don't feel too deprived.

Whatwould I do? Travel . . definitely then I'd need the gift of money also! Good luck. I'm struggling with the blog as well. All this creative writing business and work are distracting me no end.

My dear, good luck with your class. I feel as if this is the end of an era in the blogsphere. First, our mutual blogger, French Fancy has gone into semi-retirement. I think it is going to be very quiet on here.

I always enjoy the feeling of doing what I wish in the moment. No pressure to get things done, no demands of my precious time.

Nice to be able to do what you cherish. I have never made huge amounts of money as a working journalist, but I have always loved what I did.

Have fun in the archives!

More time? What's that? :)

I'd for sure do some work for the offspring's school. Read some good books. Maybe volunteer for a political campaign if I could find a worthy candidate (yeah, right).

I have a fun idea for a blogging project but it would mean taking several weeks off and although I have the vacation time it's just not possible at the moment.

Let us know what class you decide on!

sounds an exciting project and the class sounds good too. ahh if i had more time I would work more on my art, spend more time with friends and family, get everything in my life organsied (for once) and volunteer for Reprieve (if they'd have me)....I could go on!

I have time and I'm still trying to figure how best to use it. I always thought I would take all the classes I missed along the way, but that hasn't happened yet. I'll let you know when I have an answer!

I was awarded the gift of time four years ago when I was laid off from a wonderful job. At first unemployment was awkward. Then I developed a couple of hobbies I hadn't found the time for as a full-time employee. The hobbies have blossomed into avocations. I have appointments through the week that give structure to my days, but I still get to be the master of my fate. I hope you enjoy your gift of time to the fullest.
