I know some of you are wondering whatever has happened over the last two weeks...
I got everyone's question(s) answered, so if you've not seen the responses, take a peek. Thanks to all who played along.
I've become a bit of a working drudge--up before the sun, at work by a bit after seven and home, often exhausted, by five. Household chores, animals and meal prep, PT, then early to bed and a night of often dreamless sleep. I do a half mile circuit round the business complex everyday during lunch. This gives me a bit of sun, a chance to escape my windowless work space and exercise. I do crunches and stretches in the evening from the comfort of my bed, missing the hospital machines and exercise regime all the while. In case you're wondering, I do plan on returning to the hospital when this is over, but the eight-hour day puts a drain on the energy and having gone to PT after work in the past, I was often so tired getting home that other necessaries were abandoned continuously, with unpleasant consequences for me.
The feline members of the household are not enjoying being alone during the day and register their irritation in small and very annoying ways, including leaving "presents" in my bed, chewing holes in favourite socks and deliberately waking me an hour earlier than is customary for their breakfast. If I didn't love the little blighters, they'd be up for adoption in a snap.
Errands and household stuff are accomplished piecemeal, and if I haven't answered the odd e-mail, I will. No problems regarding Godot in this workplace, which is lovely.
Other than getting some necessities for the flat, and the odd trim, I haven't planned anymore outings and rainy weather kept me inside today. I will miss the upcoming initiation into the international Library Honor Society, Beta Phi Mu, but it is one more small detail for the CV, whether I'm there or not.
Mundane life, innit???

Sounds like you are staying busy and productive AND earning money. All of those good things! Congratulations on figuring out how to make it all work. I hope your animals become more accepting of your new schedule.
How did I miss the Friday questions? I thought I had everyone covered after my equally dull weekend. I share the working drudgery thing. I'm knackered when I get home. I think my dog has the poos with me too, she only gets a walk on the weekend now that the days are shorter.
No, it's not mundane at all. You are getting out each day (which is a positive), you are earning money, you are socialising with colleagues. I'm doing none of these things (I used to in the UK, but not here).
Do you leave the television or radio on for the gang?

Nick: I'm afraid they're all a bit spoiled...they did get a talking to and as is typical, it went in one ear and out the other...
Baino: Your weekends and writings are never dull...did you find the device and batteries you were seeking??
French Fancy: Your idea about the radio is a good one, and you are making friends there, at least, and working on a degree, which is wonderful. Thanks for always being so positive.
Sometimes there is such comfort in the daily routine - it's like a warm blanket. I am amazed though at how much you seem to get done in a day. I tend to blow things off due to laziness.
Pets. The more desperately you need sleep the more likely they are to wake you up early.
Oh they know. They definitely know.
Some people insist that cats don't care whether people are there or not, that, unlike dogs, they don't pine for human companionship. Which is, of course, total crap, as your post demonstrates! (Have I used enough commas there or what?)
(Glad we're not the only ones who get presents when we're away too long!)

I don't get as much done as I would like, but doing a bit each day saves the works from falling in around my head...
About the animals, yes, they do know when a change occurs and they care enough to show displeasure. My cats are never aloof with me, no matter their feelings.
